Brian Bonacci Sworn in as CISA’s New Chief of Staff

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has welcomed Brian Bonacci as its new Chief of Staff. The announcement was made on social media, with Acting Director Madhu Gottumukkala administering the oath.

Bonacci brings more than three decades of experience in government IT, strategy, and partnerships to the role. He began his federal service at the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the Internal Revenue Service before moving into leadership positions across the private sector. His career includes senior roles at Verizon, SAIC, Unisys, Level 3 Communications, Infinera, Equinix, and ScienceLogic, where he guided federal partnerships, business development, and government relations.

Most recently, Bonacci served as founder and president of gScale Consulting, where he advised federal agencies on strategy, planning, and transformation initiatives. He also spent time as Senior Vice President of Growth and Strategy at RIVA Solutions, leading business development, marketing, and capture management.
